National Housekeeping Week Kick-off: Recognize Your Best Housekeeper

In honor of National Housekeeping Week, THLA will be holding its Annual Bed Making Contest as well as a special complimentary luncheon for housekeepers and members on September 13th at the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center.

This special event is dedicated to recognizing local housekeepers and the vital role they play in Tulsa's lodging industry. Make sure to encourage your staff members to attend to cheer!

Bed Making Contest and Luncheon Overview

• Contest: 10:30 a.m.
• Pizza Buffet: 11:30 a.m.
• Dessert provided by Guest Supply

Contest Rules:

• Each THLA member property may submit 1 housekeeper; must be currently paid on dues.
• Housekeeper makes a bed and will be judged on overall neatness, smoothness AND time.
• Final scoring is a tally of actual time it takes to make the bed.
• "Seconds" are deducted for neatness and "seconds" are added for sloppiness

Cash Prizes:

• 1st Place: $200
• 2nd Place: $150
• 3rd place: $100

Defending 2009 Champions:

• 1st Place: Rosario Arcos, Hampton Inn Broken Arrow, 35 seconds!
• 2nd Place: Mayela Avalos, Staybridge Suites, 62 seconds
• 3rd Place: Rosario Arcos, Hampton Inn Broken Arrow, 72 seconds

Deadline to Enter Contest and RSVP for Lunch: Thursday, September 9th

To enter and RSVP, please email (1) contestant name, supervisor name and property as well as total luncheon attendees (number only) from your property and/or company to: director@tulsahotels.org.
